Heat Pumps

NEWS: The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is due to be launched which can pay you thousands for using heat pump systems. click here for more informaton.

renewable energy house pictureHeat pumps take heat from outside and transfer it into the house. They work a bit like a fridge in reverse sucking heat out from outside and concentrating it up in the house - like the coils on the back of the fridge. There are two types of heat pumps we provide:

  • Ground source heat pump
  • Air source heat pump

We provide a FREE assessment of your property to see if it is suitable for a heat pump in East Yorkshire and North Yorkshire. We can then supply and install a heat pump from our partner British ECO. British ECO is a national company that has been going since 2002 and has many installations around the country. They are MCS accredited (#1377)

Ground Source Heat Pump

ground source heat pump pictureGround source heat pumps take heat from under the ground outside and bring it into the home as useful heat. Often a trench is dug to lay the piping outside but there are also methods where a deep bore-hole is dug to run the pipe down and extract heat from the earth.

Under the ground a few meters down the temperature is a roughly constant 8-12 degrees C. The heat pump runs using electricity but for every 1kW of electricity used it generates around 3-4kW of useful heat therefore most of the energy provided is renewable energy. This is even better if the electricity used to run the heat pump is generated from a renewable energy source such as a wind turbine or solar panel in the first place.

Simply contact us for a FREE assessment. We will come round and assess the property then provide a report on the potential for installing a ground source heat pump.

The UK government recently announced its new grant scheme called the "Renewable-Heat-Incentive", which is still in consultation. Until the RHI comes in there are still grants available for installing ground source heat pumps under the old grant scheme. You have to use a MCS accredited company (like British ECO, who we work with) to get this grant.

Air Source Heat Pump

Again the air source heat pump runs using electricity and for every 1kW of electricity used it generates around 3-4kW of useful heat therefore most of the energy provided is renewable energy. This is even better if the electricity used to run the heat pump is generated from a renewable energy source such as a wind turbine or solar panel in the first place.

Simply contact us for a FREE assessment. We will come round and assess the property then provide a report on the potential for installing a ground source heat pump.

Air source heat pumps also will come under the "Renewable-Heat-Incentive", which is still in consultation and there are still grants available for installing air source heat pumps under the old grant scheme until the RHI is launched. You have to use a MCS accredited company (like British ECO, who we work with) to get this grant.

We can provide solar systems though our partner British ECO call now for a FREE assessment and no-obligation quotation.
