Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is launched (?)
There is a new "grant" for renewable energy called
Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI). This
is a new government scheme to support renewable energy in the form of
heating. The RHI supports the following technologies that are of
interest to the domestic consumer:
- Solar hot water panels
- Ground Source Heat Pumps
- Biomass Boilers
The
Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) will pay you for generating heat from
renewable heat units like these. It can be thousands of pounds per year. In some cases the RHI will pay you
more than the cost of the fuel itself !
It came in for commercial systems in 2011 and is due to be launchad in 2012 and in
the meantime there is another grant called the Renewable Heat Premium
Payment - which will pay up to £1,250 for installation of
renewable heat technology systems.
We can advise on the RHI, RHPP and likely payments and income for the technologies above. Call us on 01377 240 625.
